Directing the wards
Wards and Wardens was our second event pack. For this release, I was given the responsibilities of a Game Director for the duration of development. The role was given to me based on my performance during Tours and Tournaments and the key concern was ensuring that the Game Director’s vision was delivered in the DLC in his absence. During development I worked closely with Production to ensure that we would be able to deliver a DLC with high player value within budget, and due to thorough and accurate estimations, Wards and Wardens made for a successful release well within budget. As well as assuming Game Director responsibilities in providing leadership and thorough documentation to the team, I was also expected to continue my responsibilities as a Game Designer and deliver high quality and quantity of in-game content. We totalled out to over one hundred pieces of bespoke in-game content and two new mechanical features, one of which was designed and implemented by myself alone, that being the Adoption mechanic.
